[Sami kind of shrugs her soldiers as she responds to Andy's question.]

Sami: I dunno, she's... nice? She doesn't chat much. But she ALWAYS takes care of the backyard, never complains or anything... I think she's shy.
Andy: (off-panel) Yeah.
Sami: I want to get to know her better, but I don't want to scare her off.
Andy: Same.
Sami: She WANTED to get out of town...

[Sami taps the tips of her fingers together, tentatively posing her question.]

Sami: But, like, I feel like WE'RE at least friends, right?

[Andy gives Sami a frank smile, which Sami returns brightly.]

Andy: Don't think you live through the end of the world together and not become FRIENDS, do ya?

[Andy stretches out her arms and legs.]

SFX: streeeeeetch
Andy: Well, I'm glad it's not just me. 'Tween the two of us, I get the impression she's more comfortable around YOU.
Sami: Why do you say that?

[Andy purses her lips and sighs heavily.]
