[Saki leans forward, wincing, her hand on her back. She snaps her fingers (of her other hand) as she speaks.]
Lauren: What's TAKING you guys so long to GET in here?
Saki: We've been TRYING since day ONE. Our guys just... get mowed down. Like THAT. (snaps fingers) The spaceships aren't letting much of anything get across the 270 belt, even on foot. I GUESS they think it's some kind of natural border.
[A wide shot of Lauren and Saki. Saki is crouched down in a squatting position, her head hung.]
Saki: We're losing a lot of people. Lot of GOOD people. I'm just lucky I managed to eject in time. Their firepower... It's pretty nasty.
Lauren: Yeah. I've seen.
[Lauren scuffs at the ground with her shoes a bit.]
SFX: crunch crunch
[Turning, Lauren bids Saki goodbye. Saki is now seated on the ground.]
Lauren: WELL. This was fun. Good luck out there.
Saki: Where are you going?
Lauren: Nearby-ish. Got a bit of a hike. I want to get there by tomorrow.
